Dana’s roots and love for Cartagena brought her to the outskirts of the city, where young people live in extreme poverty. She connected with the Juan Felipe Gomez Escobar Foundation (JUANFE), an organization that provides support for at-risk teenage mothers. Dana visits Colombia on a regular basis to work with the teens, teaching them how to make pom-poms.
The pom-poms they make contribute to some of the final mobiles and projects. To learn more about JUANFE click here.
